IELTS Writing Task 2

Response: While many people hold the view that advertising is regarded as a persuasive and efficient way to buy products, others are of the opinion that advertising cannot attract us anymore because it is really common. From my point of view, although some people still choose the goods they need based on the advertisements, it is becoming an annoying approach to presenting products. On the one hand, a notable part of each society has trust in advertising and whenever need to evaluate a product, they do it by the popularity of that. It is obvious that one of the ways in which a product becomes popular is to advertise it frequently, especially in the media. In addition, they believe that when a product is advertised, an opportunity is provided to be familiar with all aspects of that product so that it is really helpful for customers to compare goods. From another angle, other people state that advertising is ineffective anymore due to the fact that it is widespread and common. During the day nearly most people are bombarded by various Ad in everywhere such as on social media, the street, Television, etc., and often cause some trouble for us including distraction. Moreover, it is too annoying when everywhere someone goes, is encountered by one of these advertisements. For example, in the middle of an exciting TV program suddenly a commercial ad pops up and makes everyone furious. As far as I am a proponent of this idea, nowadays advertisements are too much and pervasive so that they lose their effectiveness and efficiency. In conclusion, whether advertising is an extremely successful and efficient method to persuade people to buy goods or not is a controversial issue. My viewpoint is that these days advertising probably not only is not an effective way but also is considered an irritating approach to convince people to buy a product.

Response: It is a widespread belief that printed newspapers and books will not be used in the future because people can read everything they want online free of charge. From my point of view, although buying printed newspapers and books is less popular in the future, many people would rather printed newspapers and books for several reasons. To commence with, a notable part of the elderly will prefer to buy newspapers and book due to the fact that they would not be partly familiar with technology. It would be more convenient for old people to keep the traditional way which is buying printed newspapers and books. Furthermore, some people strongly believe that reading the hardcopy versions of books and newspapers is more memorable than reading online. They point out that books provide you to highlight wherever a reader wants and more importantly a reader can feel the writer’s emotions when touches papers. As well as the mentioned reasons, reading online books and newspapers for a while can have detrimental impact on the readers’ eyes and it is undeniable. Some research has provedthat If people’s eyes are exposed to artificial light for a long time, so it will result in diminishing their eyesight. In conclusion, owing to the fact that it is free to read everything online, no one will tend to buy printed newspapers and books. In my opinion, buying hardcopy of books and newspaper is not going to be abolished for the reasons that have been brought up in this essay.

Response: Some people around the world hold the view that ownership of a home instead of renting one is crucial. This belief arises from several aspects like being worried about the future and the ability to save money. From my point of view, this situation brings an unfavorable aspect to lives which will be discussed in this essay. To commence with, the main issue that people care about is the future of children, so they make numerous efforts to buy a house even though it is small in size. parents who worry about the future of their children would like to provide an accommodation where their children can live there without distress. In addition, because the major part of a family’s expenditure is rent, buying a house is regarded as the most effective way to save money. For instance, most Iranian people believe that buying a house is a kind of profitable investment. The notable point which usually overlooked is that this behavior has negative features such as ignoring pleasure. The only purpose of living is to reach happiness and it is undeniable. Some people spend a remarkable part of their lives working in order to earn adequate money to buy a house which may lead to dissatisfaction in the late age of their life. Furthermore, they may miss the enjoyable time of their life such as the time when they can play with their children. For instance, one of my colleagues, who is the founder of a well-known company, always feels regretful about why he was not at his daughter's wedding party owing to the fact that he had to work. In conclusion, some people all over the world are of the opinion that it is vital to have a home instead of renting one. The reasons for this belief and also the minus point of that have been brought up and clarified vividly.

Response: In contemporary society, sugar has become an indispensable component of most processed foods and beverages. However, the high levels of this substance can lead to numerous detrimental effects on our health. In this context, some people argue that sugary products should be priced higher to reduce sugar consumption among the population. I partially agree with this viewpoint for several reasons. It is an undeniable fact that the prices of products play a significant role in shaping individuals' shopping habits. In other words, when it comes to purchasing items, high prices are often seen as a deterrent for many consumers. They typically prefer to buy more affordable products rather than expensive ones. Consequently, if sugary foods were to become more costly, they would likely become less popular over time. However, it is important to note that this price increase may have little effect on a substantial number of people who consider sugar an integral part of their diet. Many of them are willing to spend considerable amounts of money to continue enjoying their favorite sugary foods and drinks. On the other hand, there are several other effective strategies to discourage individuals from purchasing products with high sugar content. Firstly, the government could implement regulations that restrict the sale of sugary products in the market. Additionally, manufacturers should focus on producing foods and beverages with lower sugar levels to offer healthier alternatives. Finally, producers can utilize natural substitutes for sugar, such as grape extract or palm sugar, to sweeten their products without compromising health. In conclusion, while increasing the prices of sugary products could have a significant impact on reducing people's inclination to buy these treats, I believe there are also other viable methods to address this issue.

Response: In many contries around The World, rural people are moving to cities. So the population in the countryside is decreasing. Do you think this is a positive or negative development? examples from your own knowledge or experience. Overpopulation in mega cities, particularly in developed countries has posed governments a great burden, and the most recognized reason is the rural immigration. On the other side, governments have brought this to their own by placing the main substatial facilities and organization in these cities. I believe, although these mega cities need an extensive workforce with toughtful strategies and policies governments can manage the situation more effectively. On the one hand, when governments dedicate most of their budget to provide cities with great services and facilities, it makes the rustics feel overlooked. Besides, when cities become the center of all activities there will be more job opportunities as well. Those in villages who do not desire to work in rural jobs decide to come to cities in pursuit of other positions. I believe about two decades ago this system was working perfectely, however now due to overpopulation the countrysides are expanding. Actually, the problem in here is not only expanding cities but also weakening of rural economy. Rustics are still the crucial part of countries economy, and by their depopulation governments will take the main hit. The demographic rated portray that the population of the rustics has diminished meanwhile the numbers in cities are rising. The worst mistake of govrnment was advetizing the city-life and disparaging the rerul-life. When the delusional idea of livinig a perfect life in cities became widespread there was no cessation there. These demographic shifts were not only the ruslts of job opportunities in the cities, it was also due to the cultural changes that made the rustics more willing to live in the cities. For example, there are more advertisements occuring in the city site rather than rural sites. In conclusion, from both city and rural sides, these changes have caused several problems which we now can clearly see. The outcomes of this situation are destructive to economy and govenments should use proper policies to avoid them.

Response: In recent times, many people are keen to know about the history of their place of residence. This essay discusses the possible reasons behind this concern as well as some methods that can help individuals with their research. Nowadays, security has become a major concern, therefore, an increasing number of individuals are concerned about the history of their houses and buildings. One of the major concerns is knowing whether the place has any history of crime, as it tells a lot about the safety of the neighbourhood. To cite an example, a woman who wants to move into a building reads on the internet that there have been several thefts in that very building, would be able to make a better-informed decision of choosing a safer place, in comparison to a man who decided to blindly trust the broker. Moreover, it is necessary to know if the house or the building was constructed legally. For instance, a recent incident happened where a big society in Gurgaon, India, was built on disputed land, the owner did not disclose this information to the buyers. In addition, when the decision came against him, he ran off with all the money, leaving all those people homeless. Hence, it is prudent to run a background check to ensure the security of your residence. Furthermore, in today’s contemporary era, which is marked by rapid technological advancements, it is very easy to dig up information about anything. Every small incident usually makes it on the web, therefore, thorough research could tell a lot about the place. Additionally, asking the neighbours some questions about the locality or why the previous neighbours vacated the place, could provide some more crucial information. Another important step can be to get all the paperwork proofread by a lawyer. In conclusion, many people have become concerned about the history of their house due to various security reasons, however, these can be resolved by thorough research.

Response: Common sense argues that the primary goal of science should be the advancement of human lives in various aspects. This essay will evaluate this perspective and discuss the criteria supporting this view. Firstly, since the existence of humanity, the motivation behind exploring various sciences has often been the desire to create a better world. While some scientific discoveries may have originated from destructive intentions, such as weaponry, in most cases, such as the development of computers and mobile phones, the motivation has been to simplify and improve daily life. A prominent example of this is the field of medical science, particularly in the fight against cancer. Advances in cancer research, such as the development of targeted therapies and immunotherapy, have significantly improved survival rates and quality of life for many patients. These breakthroughs are a direct result of scientific efforts aimed at improving human health. Without these scientific advancements, the outlook for individuals diagnosed with cancer would be far more dire, highlighting the vital role science plays in enhancing and extending human life. Secondly, although these motivations are often internal, governments also play a significant role in shaping the main goals of scientific research. Government funding influences the direction of scientific endeavours. If a government prioritizes the well-being of its citizens, scientific research will align with improving people's daily lives. However, in the case of authoritarian regimes or terrorist organizations, scientists may be coerced into pursuing goals that serve the rulers' interests rather than benefiting society. In conclusion, while motivations behind scientific pursuits can sometimes be detrimental, throughout history, the primary aim has consistently been the improvement of people's live

Response: In number of cultures, individuals told to children if they try as hard as they can, they are able to achieve anything that they want. This opinion has its own advantages and disadvantages. This essay discusses both side views, and I explain my personal opinion. A number of people argue that it is crucial to teach children to fight for their goals. This group believe that there is nothing as impossible and they teach their child to fight for their wishes and at the end there is no doubt that they will be successful. For instance, if a subject is hard at school and a child thinks it is not in his/ her power to get a great score on exam, parents try to enhance their child’s confidence and help him/ her to achieve a high score. This has a significant impact on self-confidence and hardworking behavior in children and it is obviously a positive outcome for parents. On the other hand, some individuals claim that it is not a right idea. They believe that it is totally acceptable that every person will experience failure even after hardworking, and nonstop efforts. They argue that children ought to be prepare to face with this situation and learn from their experiences and improve their skills and broaden their knowledge. For example, if a child tries hard to get a golden medal at a competition and do not win the final, this person has to be aware that it was his/ her destiny and the winner probably tried harder than him/ her and the winner was deserved to get the gold medal. In conclusion, I claim it as a positive lifestyle that can be taught to children. I believe that if any person set a goal and do their best, they would make that dream true, however there is some exceptions, and in some cases, individuals may achieve their goals after a short while. I am sure that not only children have to learn to be tough and a warrior but also it has to be taught them that every effort has a desirable consequence and they would reach their goals.

Response: In contemporary society, there has been a marked increase in the number of individuals who display a keen interest in uncovering the historical background of their residences. This essay will examine the impetus behind this phenomenon and discuss various methods that can be employed to facilitate such research. One of the primary reasons for this growing curiosity can be attributed to the desire for a sense of belonging and connection to one’s abode. As individuals become increasingly transient in their lives, relocating for work or personal reasons, they may seek to find meaning and stability in their living quarters. By delving into the past of their homes, they can establish a link with previous inhabitants, thereby fostering a sense of continuity and attachment. Moreover, the value of historical preservation has gained prominence in recent years, with more individuals recognizing the importance of conserving architectural heritage. Learning about the past of a house or building contributes to this preservation effort, as it enables the current occupants to appreciate the significance of their dwelling and potentially safeguard it against future alterations or demolitions. To satiate this thirst for historical knowledge, there are several avenues that can be explored by individuals. Firstly, local archives and libraries can provide a wealth of information, ranging from old maps and photographs to records related to construction and ownership. These resources can help to piece together a comprehensive narrative of the building’s past. Another fruitful approach involves engaging with neighbors or previous occupants, who may possess valuable oral histories and anecdotes that illuminate the lived experiences of the space. In conclusion, the surge in interest regarding the history of one’s accommodation can be ascribed to the quest for belonging and the increasing awareness of the importance of architectural heritage. Utilizing local archival resources and engaging with community members can prove to be effective methods for conducting this research, enabling individuals to forge a deeper connection with their homes and the past that shaped them.
