Driverless Vehicles: Advantages and Disadvantages

IELTS Writing Task 2

6.0
Response: In the near future there will be no drivers for vehicles, and passengers will travel with these driverless cars. Although with driverless cars, the work-force in this area can be allocated to othere high demand jobs, I believe that there are more drawbacks because driverless cars are increadibly dangerous. With driverless cars, more people can work in other jobs that require more employees. In this economy there is always a lack of human work-force in high demand jobs such as nursing. If drivers get replaced by automatic vehicles, these people can work for other jobs. For instance, in the UAE, there was a high demand in IT jobs, as a result, the government has decided to replace all taxis with automatic ones to allocate the drivers to other high requested jobs. However, I believe that vehicles without drivers are extremely dangerous and the government can manage the work-force by setting a good plan. Vehicles without drivers can be a threat to people’s lives. Although AI has been taking the places of some jobs, when it comes to driving, it requires more thinking. Vehicles without drivers can be very dangerous and cause car crashes since they are machines that run algorithms and may fail during driving. For example, in 2018, a woman reported that her Tesla car stopped working in the middle of a highway and blocked the road. I believe that there are high chances of car crashes with driverless cars, and they are a risk to human safety. In conclusion, although driverless vehicles have some benefits such as allocating human work-force to other high demand jobs, the disadvantages are more as it can be very risky for people’s lives.

Accepting vs. Improving Bad Situations

Response: While it could be argued that we should try to change our bad situations such as economic and career problems, there is a viewpoint against this statement that says the best way is to tolerate such situations. In my opinion, though sometimes it is hard to move towards great opportunities, we should do our best to change such situations. On the one hand, some suppose that trying to change everything that might sound bad in your view will lead to unpleasant results. For example, an employee working with a low salary but in a stable situation is willing to resign from the current work to start his own business without considering unexpected circumstances and experiences. It is more likely that this person will lose the least money each month because it sounds illogical to become successful in running a private business. On the other hand, some argue that the world gives us this chance to live once. Consequently, it is logical to fight to get whatever we are willing. For example, it is significantly important when a patient is fighting against a severe illness such as cancer. Staying in such a situation and not following the cure protocol will result in death which is against human beings' nature. I also support the idea that humans are risky creatures. In other words, it is a part of the survival process as it could be seen that taking risks has been an inseparable part of evolution. In conclusion, there are two viewpoints on whether we should tolerate terrible conditions or should try to improve unwanted situations such as jobs, and insufficient salary.

The Importance of Home Ownership

Response: In some countries, people place considerable importance on owning a home rather than renting one. This essay will explore the reasons behind this trend. While homeownership does offer certain benefits, I would argue that the disadvantages of this tendency outweigh the advantages. There are several reasons why people might prioritize owning a home over renting. Firstly, homeownership allows individuals to make long-term plans and personalize their living space according to their preferences. For instance, homeowners can redesign or modify their property without restrictions, which is often not possible for tenants who may be required to vacate after a short rental period. In other words, renting is typically a temporary arrangement, limiting renters’ ability to feel truly settled. Additionally, in many developing countries, homeownership is seen as a form of financial security. With high inflation rates, owning property becomes a way to safeguard one’s income by qinvesting in an asset that appreciates over time, rather than spending a significant portion of monthly earnings on rent. Despite the advantages, I believe that this emphasis on homeownership can have adverse effects on the economy. One key issue is the inflation of property prices, often driven by speculation and lack of regulation in the housing market. When real estate transactions are primarily controlled by profit-driven developers, property values can escalate rapidly, placing undue financial strain on average citizens and making homeownership increasingly unattainable. Moreover, developers may prioritize profit over quality, constructing low-standard buildings without adhering to safety measures such as earthquake resilience. This not only threatens public safety but also erodes trust in the real estate market. In conclusion, although the trend towards homeownership is popular in many countries, it brings significant economic risks. In my view, in a stable economic system, renting may offer more financial flexibility and stability, making it a more practical choice than homeownership.

Response: These days, advertisers often strive to highlight the novel features of products. Promoting the latest version of products has increasingly become appealing to fashion victims, whereas I believe this negative approach can deceive individuals to focus on less important items. Marketing is an inseparable part of business. advertisers use a wide range of marketing strategies to make considerable profits. By focusing on unique traits of goods, businesses intend to instill a sense of fascination to uninformed customers to purchase the newest merchandise to feel more satisfied. Manufacturers by using flashy advertisements not only can exploit the unawareness of society to exaggerate the quality of their products but also they can encourage their customers to meet their needs with the products having specific properties. Moreover, fashion slaver customers tend to buy what has recently become trend. Businesses strive to persuade this kind of customers to buy trendy wares by enticing advertisements. They may concentrate on showcasing the state- of-the-art-quality of their products, for instance, gadgets by unknown brands, even if they have poor quality, which can be used in short term , due to the obsession of their targeted audiences with vogue and modernity. By the negative development, consumers may pay attention solely to the newest products, publicized by profiters advertisers. This means that individuals might be influenced by captivating advertisements due to the desire of having what has introduced currently to gain a high dignity in the society. They may prefer to gain other’s admiration for their modern properties to feel pleasure. However, this may not only waste their money due to buying inferior goods but also encourage businesses to use excessively marketing gimmicks to delude customers conveniently. Additionally, if some businesses extremely benefit from extravagantly highlighting their production’s features, it is likely that others will be motivated to emulate this practice. As a result, customers may lose their trust and choose what they need without care of advertisements. In conclusion, focusing on the new products by advertisements has become common because of customers’ interests in fashion. I am utterly convinced that the negative trend can affect the individuals’ financial conditions negatively, leading to distrust of advertisements.

Response: Currently, many people use digital forms of books for obtaining information. Some argue that in the near future individuals will not pay for newspaper and magazines and they will use the free version of them online. I firmly agree with this opinion and this essay will explore the possibility of this issue. On one hand, using e-books lead to diminishing the amount of money that people pay for. Thus, families can allocate their budjet on other crucial parts of life. Additionally, reduction in consumption of paper causes stoping the deforestation. Consequently, it has essential benefits for our environment and eco-system. For instance, “Memar” magazine announced that decreasing in amount of paper for its magazine saved 100 trees in a year. On the other hand, financial issue is one of the biggest concerns for newspaper companies and they will not earn money if they do not sell paper. Additionally, many people do not feel comfortable when they use digital versions of books and newspaper. Besides, scientists’s reasearches indicates that illuminance of monitors has negative impact on human eye. For example, my father is a big fan of reading news on newspaper, however, he says that he is not convenient with reading news online. In conclusion, I reiterate that I prefer to read the books and news online because it forms a crucial role in protecting ecosystem and in the upcoming days we will see that many people tend to use new format of reading books and newspaper. However, it has some drawbacks such as jeopradizig human vision.

Response: In some nations, nippers are given a message about if they make a hard effort in every terms, they can obtain everything that they want. Despite the fact that the main idea has many positive effects for their future, it can have a few negative repercussions when they are kid. There are several reasons about the benefits of trying hard. First of all, from an academic perspective, children who learned to try hard in their education have better work situations rather than others and the main reason of that is the more thing they learn, the more open minded they come to. For example, a person who has practiced on a variety of educational topics has more job opportunity as an adult. Secondly, it does not including education. In terms of work, this is so obvious that if somebody makes an effort in his job, he can achieve much more income in the end of the month. And at the final point, open minded people and individuals who have more informations and experiences are stronger person and they are more useful for society. For a shining example, we can give powerful leaders in the history into account such as: Abraham Lincoln. On the other hand, the children who are learned to be a try-hard person, have much less time for having fun and play games in their childhood. For instance, my brother have learned to work hard for his school and as far as I remeber, he only had two or three friends when he was a kid. In conclusion, in some cultural backgrounds they give the message of work hard with the aim of obtaining everything. Although it has a lot of upsides as an adult, the downsides of it can effect on their childhood.

Response: While some individuals believe that competitive behavior is beneficial in daily life, at work, or at school, others argue that a more cooperative attitude towards one another is preferable. Personally, I strongly agree with the latter argument, and this essay will discuss the advantages of cooperation over competition. On the one hand, cooperation offers significant benefits. Firstly, developing cooperative skills enhances communication abilities. Effective communication is crucial for both personal and professional success; for instance, individuals who can interact well with others are often more likely to advance in their careers. In educational settings, children who engage in cooperative activities tend to excel in teamwork and relationship-building. For example, if schools provide opportunities for students to foster interpersonal skills through group projects, they are likely to develop the social competencies necessary for success in their future lives. Secondly, cooperative skills help individuals accept and integrate diverse perspectives. Working in teams encourages members to consider different viewpoints, which can lead to more innovative solutions. When individuals learn to collaborate, they also learn to respect and appreciate the contributions of others, thereby enriching their problem-solving processes. On the other hand, competition can drive individuals to excel. A competitive environment may motivate people to push their boundaries and improve their skills. For example, in workplaces or schools where ambition is rewarded, individuals may work harder to achieve their goals. However, this constant comparison can also lead to stress and anxiety, which may negatively impact overall well-being. In conclusion, while competition can spur personal growth and achievement, cooperation is ultimately more beneficial for fostering meaningful interactions and a supportive community. By valuing cooperation over competition, individuals can achieve not only personal fulfillment but also contribute positively to their environments.

The Importance of Saving Money for the Future

Response: It is said that saving money for the future is crucial for everyone, particularly young people. While I completely agree with this, people must be aware of the possible dangers of inflation in their journey of saving money. Saving money for the future is universally agreed and recommended. If people, especially younger generations spend money as soon as they earn it, they may struggle later in life. This could be due to the need of money for emergency situations that might happen at any moment, for example medical emergencies, since they may cost a lot. Additionally, saving money helps people with large purchases in the future. Expensive assets, such as a house or a car, require time and effort in order to achieve enough amount of money for buying them. This is especially true for younger individuals, as they mostly start with zero assets and must save money for purchasing them over time. Nonetheless, people should be careful about how and where they are investing their money. This is because of inflation, as it can lower the value of money over time if people do not invest it properly. Therefore, people should diversify their assets while investing in order to save the value of their money for the future. For instance, they can consider buying stocks and/or real estates, which may even grow their money over time. In conclusion, I strongly believe that it’s vital for everyone, and younger people in particular to save their money for their future rather than spending them all. However, they must consider investing their money into different assets in order to protect it against potential dangers of inflation.

Impact of Smartphone Usage on Children

Response: With the advancement of technology, there have been rising concerns about children using smartphones for extended periods each day, which may be attributed to parents not exercising enough control over their children. Although smartphone use can be beneficial to some extent, I believe there are significant drawbacks that render it a negative development overall. The primary reason for children spending hours on smartphones these days can be summed up in one word: parents. It is clear that parents are primarily responsible for their children’s behavior and should take charge of their lifestyle choices. They must take proactive steps to limit their offspring’s screen time and encourage them to engage in physical activities, such as playing sports or socializing with friends in the real world. While smartphone use by children can have both advantages and disadvantages, the latter often outweighs the former. Nowadays, there are many educational apps that help children learn academic subjects such as math, science, and foreign languages. However, children predominantly use smartphones for entertainment and recreational purposes, such as watching movies or playing video games. Consequently, spending excessive time on these activities can adversely affect their physical and mental health, leading to issues such as eye strain, poor posture, and increased procrastination. In conclusion, while smartphones can offer educational benefits to children, parents play a crucial role in managing their children’s screen time to prevent it from becoming a detrimental influence on their overall health and well-being.

Response: Taking risks should be considered as a significant issue, impacting both professional and personal aspects of life. I believe that while taking risks may lead to health problems and various struggles, it can cultivate resilience and results in personal growth, which is considerably invaluable. Dealing with unfamiliar situations strengthen capabilities to overcome challenges. People often follow routines in their lives to avoid what may instill a sense of hazard to them. however, experiencing difficulties not only can promote individual’s abilities to withstand in unpleasant situations but also may bring opportunities to them to find a room for progression. Moreover, some people take risks to fulfil their curiosity and adventurous characteristic. These individuals feel satisfied while Facing new things. Satisfaction of life culminates in the development of emotional and mental status. Taking risks may facilitate addressing difficulties if people have strong resilience and determination. Increasing the stress levels may jeopardise risk taker’s well-being. This means that people undergo extreme mental pressures which can cause irreversible consequences. Chronic disease, for instance, hypertension and heart disease may result from investing entire assets in a certain area, such as production or marketing. Losing whole of investment leads to bankruptcy which put high levels of mental pressure on losers, resulting in anxiety and aggression. Additionally, aggressive behaviors negatively affect individual’s relationships. If people feel that their properties or validity might be at stake, they unable to conduct their interactions effectively. As a result, they may struggle with their families and friends, and experience communication failure, leading to isolation and depression. In conclusion, in my opinion risk takers likely endure intense tension and physical problems , as well as solitude due to the lack of positive communication; however, they can enhance their personal skills as notable advantages serve as the main factors of becoming successful in various aspects of life by strong mentality through facing different challenges.
