IELTS Writing Task 2

Response: Choosing the best method to transport people by different cars in the future is a highly debatable topic these days. It is thought that in the furture, all vehicles like buses and trucks will not have any drivers, and they will be used for trasporting individuals as passengers. Despite few disadvantages assosiated with this view, I tend to believe its advantages greatly outweigh the cons. Positively, no one can deny that using buses and trucks without drivers have a great role in protecting the environment and developing personal lives. A main advantage of this view is that driverless buses will work by electricity instead of burning fossil fuels. Hence, it might decrease the rate of air pollution, followed by minimizing global warming. Moreover, the rate of horrible accidents will be decreased because there are still some drivers who do not pursue essential rules of driving. This way, not only does it endager their own lives, but it also poses a threat to the lives of other innocent people in more fregile cars. As a result, driverless buses and trucks will reduce the rate of harmful collisions because they will work with technology. Negatively, there are some drawbacks to utilizing driverless vehicles in the future. A principal issue with this view is that it will lead to redundant work force because many drivers will be substituded by automatic cars. This will result in increasig the rate of unemployment, followed by the sharp rise in poverty. Furthermore, there will some people who have an irritional fear of utilizing driverless cars, such as elderly bcause they will not trust technology as well. However, it is illogical to underestimate the importance of producing driverless cars in the future to decrease the rate of air pollution and give saftey to citizens. In conclusion, weighting both sides of the arguments, I would believe that although driverless vehicles might decrease the rate of job opportunities for drivers of buses and trucks, and these carse will be untrustable for someones, it will protect the environment and allow people to live saftey. Therefore, its benefits can justify its drawbacks.

Response: There is some truth in the argument that food and drinks which are not made in the house are rich in sugar, and they can have impacts on people's health. So, increase in their profit can be helpful to lessen their consumption because of reducing the risk of sugar related disease and encouraging people to use healthy products instead, while sugar's important role in body should not be forgotten. On the one hand increasing the fee of sugary items may contribute to less consumption of it which lowers the risks of disorders like obesity and diabetes. Although these diseases are not curable, they can be controlled by using less sugar in everyday meals. However, some people do not take obesity and diabetes serious at first, they can decrease the quality of lives as the time passes. An obese man who suffers from diabetes by taking less sugar in his diet not only will have been able to enjoy his body shape in his next 10 years but also will be using less medications. It is important to note that increasing the cost of sugar would be useful since it encourages people to take other substances instead which have more healthier ingredients. Products with high amount of protein and vitamins instead of sugar can help build muscles can lead to a healthier lifestyle. Consuming vegetables and fruits and eggs would be a complete meal instead of using poor nutrition with higher profit. On the other hand eating less sugar because of the rise in its cost would cause problems for the brain's function which is first due to use glucose. Without adequate amount of sugar in body people would experience mental disorders like, cognitive problems, memory loss. Regulations are needed for the utilization of sugar rather than just rising its costs. In conclusion, products having high amount of sugar should be bought less due to increase in its profit to reduce the risk of obesity and diabetes, and other high nutrition products replaced in peoples diet. In my opinion, the importance of sugar for the brain function should not be ignored. However, consuming sugar with limitations by increasing its cost would benefit not only the physical health but also the mental efficacy.

Response: It is argued that in the future, nobody will have a tendency to purchase newspapers or books as every one can stay informed and read everything they wish throgh social media platforms without spending money. There are a numerous factors that contribute to this matter. In this essay, I will explore some of them and explain why I agree with this claim. To begin with, many individuals enjoy reading books and newspapers and they find it not only a pleasant experience, but also a nostalgia. They believe it is an authentic experience that cannot be obtained by reading books online. However, by developing technologies and emerging cutting-edge innovation, I believe we will witness the disappearance of paper-based information. Undoubtedly, it is both easy to access and convinient to carry when it comes to using e-books. For example, if you wish to buy all of the Harry Potter books, you do not have to pay for them anymore or carry those heavy books since, they are accessible through the internet. Furthermore, it is possible to access to a milion of news only by one click while the amount of information in a one printed newspaper is almost limited. Also, news is more up-to-dated in the online form, as a result, people can keep up with the current events. To illustrate, if you wish to check the weather conditions, you can easily pick up your phone and search it. So, I think in fifty years, due to dominance of social networks and internet, most of printed newspaper will have been vanished. In conclusion, although reading books and printed newspapers can give us a sense of nostalgia, I belive they will replaced by their online counterparts in the near future.

The Role of Competition and Cooperation in Society

Response: It is important to consider the positive and negative effects of competing on people. While some think it is helpful for people to compete in their everyday life with their coworker, and classmate, I agree with those who argue that individuals should try more to assist each other than focusing on beating one another. On the one hand, one of advantages of competition among students is that it can increase their motivation. This is because competitive spirit can force everyone to study hard regardless of any circumstances, even if they feel tired, they cannot let themselves skip doing homework as they do not want to be worse than their classmates. As a result, this motivation might lead to better performance and output. In contrast, if there were not any rivalry at work place, and universities, this may reduce individuals’ willingness for hard work. On the other hand, in my view, it is vital for companies and schools to create a more collaborative environment. The reason for this is that people should have the attitude to work together rather than against one another as this can improve individual’s well-being and self-stem. For instance, an employer who help their colleague in difficult tasks, this can foster a sense of friendship and kindness, which can make the workplace less stressful and more enjoyable. in doing so, team working not only can increase people happiness and satisfaction, but also this can provide more profits and efficiency for organizations. In conclusion, although competition can give people the impetus to work hard due to fear of losing, I think it is also very crucial to develop collaboration and team work as this can increase happiness and satisfaction.

The Importance of Home Ownership

Response: In many nations, having your own home instead of renting one is considered to be vital. There are plenty of factors that contribute to this matter. In this essay, I wil explore some of these reasons and explain why I believe this can be a negative situation. To begin with, a vast majority of people in certain countries intend to have their own home, as it is not only a reliable way of investment, but also leads to more convenient living. While the value of various possessions such as gold or bitcoin flactuate by passing time, the real estate trend usually increases over time, making it a decent way of long-term investment. Moreover, a large number of people find the moving process both mentally exhausting and physically demanding. For example, if a household wishes to move to another home, they must dedicate at least two weeks to get it done. Also, it is said by many individuals that a large portion of their income is spent on rent. For this reason, they wish they lived in their own homes. Despite having various benefits, I believe it could result in negative situation, as it can put heavy pressure on people, particularly the youth, if they wish to get married. To illustrate, for a long time, people in certain countries including mine, Iran, have had a strong expectation of men to own a home before proposing a girl. However, I think having an expectation for the young to purchase their own home, in spite of economic challenges and inflation, is not realistic. In conclusion, the preference to owning a home rather than renting one has several reasons such as investing on real estate. However, while home ownership is benificial, it can lead to some negative situations.

Response: Nowadays, each and every aspect of our lives has been changed by the day to day scientific innovation such as our lifelong. These days individuals live for a longer time compared to the past. Many believe that this issue causes certain problems for governments, while others claim that elderly people have vast profits for our society. This essay will elaborate on two viewpoints and highlight how the advantages of an aging population outweigh the disadvantages. On the one hand, there are some significant points which are related to old population who improve our society in different scales from supporting the mental health of a small family to contributing to the development of a huge country. Firstly, although they should be cared by their children, they can look after and support their grandchildren, because they are foundation of a family. Secondly, some professional elderly citizens can be selected by governments to help in the problem-solving, because they have the both experiences and responsibility. On the other hand, the most considerable disadvantages of the older population growth are that not only do they have no financial role, but they also need to be financially supported by government from their healthcare conditions to daily needs. As a result, governments have to invest certain parts of the country’s budget and taxes on this problem. For instance, some accommodations have to be constructed by government where elderly people are cared by nurses and doctors to monitor their physical and mental health. In conclusion, this essay has elaborated on different sides of old population growth. This has offered that while there are some obvious drawbacks, the advantages outweigh when they have incredible effects on the both foundation of a family and progress of a country.

Response: In the contemporary era, thanks to the wonderfully technological revolution every signle part of our lives has been altered significantly, the same can be said for entertainment style of children. It is sometimes thought that youths allocate hours to use cutting-edge tools on a daily routine. There are several reasons that may contribute to this issue, and in my opinion, it can have some negative effects in children's mental and physical health. Probably, utilizing smartphones by children every day may stem from two main reasons. Firstly, technology has facilitated pupils' lives in many aspects, and children can have access to a plethora of information every time and every where regardless of their location. Hence, it is really attractive for them to do many thing by using their smartphones. Secondly, there are lots of game applications which have been desgined for children to fill their freetime. As a result, they installed these applications on their smartphones and play by them for long hours to create a joyful moment. Admittedly, a good reason to considering the negative points of spending much time on smartphones by youths is that some physical and mental disorders may result in this issue. To illustrate, many children stay in the same position for long hours and work with their smart phones, followed by obesity, spinal-related issues and poor eye sight because they have not any movement. Moreove, there is a possibility of reducing social participation opportunities for children by not interacting with their peers and get amused by them. As a result, they may represent solitary manners and get isolated overtime. In conclusion, pupils are glued to their smartphones for hours because of the attraction of technology and play different games, while this can be harmful to their phsychological and physical health of them.

Global Availability of Food Products

Response: These days in many countries all around the world, people have access to foods and other products that are manufactured in other countries. I firmly believe this is a negative development that can affect both our environment and local economies. In this essay, I will express my opinion and support it by providing explanation and relevant examples. First of all, these products have to travel long distances to reach their destinations either by cargo ships or airplanes. For example, a company like Nestle produces most of its products in European countries like Germany and Austria, before distributing them all around the world. These long journeys result in devastating environmental consequences by contributing to carbon emission and global warming. As a result, those products that have been manufactured abroad has a higher carbon footprint compared to locally produced foods. In addition, importing food from other countries can hurt local economy by creating an unjust competition between international corporations and locally owned businesses. Those big companies, such as Coca-Cola, may use strategies such as price dumping to take control of the market and put domestic businesses out of competition. However, small domestic companies don’t have the necessary resources to compete in this scenario, and will end up filing for bankruptcy. In conclusion, buying products manufactured abroad not only affects local economies by putting small domestic businesses out of competition, but also have a significant effect on our planet and global warming by contributing to carbon emission. In my opinion, it is better if people support domestic businesses by purchasing locally produced foods and other products.

Response: Some people think that processed food and drink products include a considerable amount of sugar, which has detrimental impacts on our health condition, and in order to tackle this problem these products should be sold in higher prices. While I agree that making them costly can be benefitial to a certain extend, I believe raising awareness and accessing organic food are be better solutions. On the one hand, governments can impose heavy taxes on manufacturers, which produce food and beverages containing significant sugar proportion. Therefore, companies reflect this high taxes on their products and will sell them more expensively, so people only would by these foods only on special occasions and events. People gradually consume these products less because they do not wish to waste a lot of mony on sugary products and this contributes to improving public health. On the other hand, educaing people would have more sustainable benefits on our health. Theaching children initially from school will lead them to a better understanding of the food they use, and raising the awaraness of their parents through campaigns would be beneficial for the whole family. The reason is that children will learn from their parents and preserve this healthy lifestyle when they become adults. Furthermore, increasing the accessibility to healthy organic food can be an advantagous way for enhancing public diet and lifestyle. The more people consume highly nutrisious food, the more healthy they become. By assisting farmers and their products, selling them at a lower price, and making them easier to access for general people, the false habit of eating sugary foods will disappear eventually, and people adopt a healthy lifestyle. In this way, the roots of the problem will be indicated. In conclusion, making sugary foods and drinks expensive will be effective only to some extend. However, there are more practical ways for improving public health, such as education and organic food.

The Unifying Power of Music Across Cultures and Ages

Response: It is argued by many that music can bring various people from different backgrounds together, whether they are old or young. There are numerous factors that contribute to this matter. In this essay, I will examine some of these reasons and explain why I agree with this claim. To begin with, I believe one of the major reasons that music can bring people together is that it is a universal language between not only the elderly and the youth but also individuals from different cultures and backgrounds. For example, at a university welcome party, although students from different backgrounds might not understand each other's languages, they can have fun, dance with each other, and enjoy the party because of music, without speaking. Furthermore, I believe that a deep emotional connection to music is part of human nature. To illustrate, if sad Arabic music is played for an English person, they might burst into tears, even without understanding its meaning. Another significant reason for this is that music plays a noticeable role in making a party or gathering much more pleasant. Despite the huge gap between generations, for instance, whenever music is played at a wedding, grandparents and children start dancing and cheering up, regardless of their ages, since music provides a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Moreover, at the opening of the Olympics, people from all around the world and different nations sing along with the music and dance, even though they might not understand the meaning of its lyrics. In conclusion, while different people might have various interests or thoughts, music can bring them together and lead to bonding among people as it is a fun, shared experience. So, I agree that music can bring people closer.
