Samples for: Modern technology and the development of social media have made various platforms available to spread both good and bad news to people worldwide. This is seen as a disadvantage of globalized technology as it excessively influences human life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Nowadays, there are many sites and news applications online that announce news from every part of the world. However, most of these topics and news are not important for people living in another country or even continent. They don’t significantly affect people’s decisions, work, lifestyles, economic situations, and other aspects of human life. However, most of this news, whether bad or good, influences the emotional and spiritual state of individuals. For example, when news about an earthquake or flood spreads widely on social media, even if it occurred far away, people unconsciously think and talk about it all day long, causing dramatic sorrow with lots of negative emotions and ruining their good mood for the day.
On the other hand, due to modernization and technological advancements, there are too many distracting factors that people face every day. Due to numerous distractions, our brain finds it difficult to concentrate and achieve great performance. News that is not relevant and crucial for people’s work or lives distracts their attention at work and declines the quality of outcomes. For example, new research has shown that any notification on smartphones, especially about bad news, can easily lessen human attention during work hours, while it takes thirty minutes for our brain to strongly concentrate again on a task. This large amount of bad and good news is destroying our brain focus and diminishing brain performance. The different, widespread, and ineffective news we deal with every day and night has harmful effects on our performance and success, although knowing about environmental events or changes around us that really affect our lives is necessary to live better and gain success in this modern world.
In conclusion, I completely agree that easy access to irrelevant bad and even good news from other countries that don’t affect human lives and work harms people’s emotions and unconsciously makes them sad and unhappy for a time. Furthermore, in busy modern societies, there are many distracting factors like ineffective news that decrease human attention and concentration on their job, so work performance doesn’t result in great progression.
