Samples for: A society is always a combination of people with various beliefs and backgrounds, such as cultural, religious, ethnic, and age differences. Nowadays, the population of some countries consists of a large number of young people compared to older individuals. This essay will investigate the pros and cons of having a young population compared to having older people in society. On the one hand, one noticeable advantage of a younger society is having a large workforce. A country with more young adults will have more laborers and increased productivity. For example, adults can perform more physical work than the elderly. As a result, a young society empowers a country's production. Moreover, younger people can adapt to new methods of progress, such as using technologies. These days, technology and its usage in everything is evident, and youngsters are more familiar with development tools than older individuals. For instance, youth can utilize computers and smartphones more easily compared to some older people. Therefore, a country with a higher proportion of young people will develop faster than one with an older population. On the other hand, older people are a wealth of experience, and all sectors of a country need the presence of experienced people to train new workforces. To illustrate, a young person who wants to start a job needs training from an older, more experienced person. Consequently, society needs the knowledge and skills of older people to progress. Furthermore, the older group of the population is generally more calm and committed to rules. As a result, a society with an older population has a lower rate of crime and illegal acts. In conclusion, although society needs experienced and law-abiding people, for productivity and development, young people play a more important role than the elderly. Therefore, the positive aspects of a larger proportion of young adults in the population outweigh the negative features.
