Response: In the future, more people will choose to spend their holidays in their own country rather than travelling abroad. Do you agree or disagree? Some people argue that domestic holidays will become more popular than international travel in the future. Although travelling overseas provides opportunities to broaden one's horizons and experience different cultures, I believe that an increasing number of people will prefer domestic tourism because of its affordability, convenience, and accessibility. One major reason why people may choose to travel within their own country is that it is considerably cheaper. International trips usually involve a wide range of expenses, including accommodation, meals, airfares, travel insurance, and visa fees, all of which can place a significant financial burden on families. Consequently, many people, particularly those from low-income households, may not be able to afford holidays abroad. Furthermore, travelling internationally can present additional challenges, such as language barriers and culture shock. Communicating in a foreign language may make it difficult for visitors to interact with local people or deal with everyday situations, such as ordering food or arranging accommodation. Another reason for the growing popularity of domestic tourism is that many countries have a variety of attractions that remain unexplored by their own citizens. Historical landmarks, museums, natural landscapes, and cultural sites can provide travellers with a deeper understanding of their nation's heritage and traditions. Moreover, domestic tourism can contribute significantly to economic development. When people spend money on local hotels, restaurants, transportation, and tourist attractions, they support local businesses and create employment opportunities, which ultimately benefits the national economy. However, international travel should not be overlooked, as it offers unique educational and cultural experiences. Travelling abroad enables individuals to immerse themselves in different cultures, interact with people from diverse backgrounds, and gain first-hand knowledge of foreign lifestyles. Although overseas holidays are generally more expensive, those who have sufficient financial resources can benefit greatly from these experiences. In conclusion, while international travel offers valuable opportunities for cultural exchange, I believe that domestic holidays are likely to become more common in the future due to their lower cost, greater convenience, and positive impact on local economies.
