Response: Nowadays, many people decide to be self-employed, instead of working for a company or organization. There are different factors that lead them to this decision, such as flexibility in work hours or independency. However, despite the positive effects of being self-employed, there may be some disadvantages regarding this choice, such as job insecurity or an unstable income. To begin with, being self-employed has significant advantages that encourage people to start their own business. For example, people become their own boss when starting their own career, which means that they can choose their desirable working hours. Some people are more energetic during the night; so if they do their job in at night, they will be able to have some rest in the morning. Moreover, self-employed people have unlimited earning potential. For instance, people who work as a freelancer, can increase their income by accepting more projects and earn more money. These positive effects of being self-employed helps people feel independent and boost their self-confidence. On the other hand, being self-employed can have disadvantages, in addition to advantages. The main negative factor is job insecurity, including unstable income and financial risks. For example, if the number of presented projects for a freelancer is inadequate, he or she may not be able to take on suitable projects and earn money. As a result, this problem can led self-employed people to financial problems and put their business at risk. In conclusion, although being self-employed has positive effects that make people to work for themselves, rather than a company or organization, it can cause some problems such as job insecurity as well.
