With the advancement of science and technology, particularly the internet, the world has become a global village. It has brought individuals from various nations closer. While some believe this is a beneficial development, others oppose it. In this essay, I will discuss the benefits of globalisation and explain why I support it.
Firstly, this is advantageous for the advancement of human civilization. People from various countries have come together on a global scale, promoting business and trade. To put this into perspective, the European Union allows trade among its member nations. This has not only given these countries an economic boost but has also contributed to the betterment of mankind.
Secondly, as nations communicate with each other, there has been an increase in tourism. This has given third-world countries an opportunity to showcase their beauty. Earlier, countries like Pakistan were unknown to Western people; however, now many are visiting it. Consequently, its GDP has increased.
Conversely, there are also negative aspects. As the lines between borders become blurry, so do cultural identities. For instance, Asian countries have been promoting Hollywood movies. Thus, individuals in these countries are inspired by Western culture and want to follow Western fashion, speak English, and adopt American traditions. Therefore, these countries are losing their identity.
In conclusion, although the loss of cultural identity is a risk, the positive effects of globalisation, like the advancement of mankind and the growth of third-world economies, cannot be ignored. Therefore, in my opinion, individuals who halt the progress of globalisation are having a detrimental effect on human growth.
