Some health problems can be causes by consuming too much high-in-sugar food and beverage. I totally disagree with the statement of considering higher prices on sweet goods because this can increase the costs of other goods and resulting monetary extreme situations. Additionally, sugary goods are not always detrimental to people’s health, and people should be aware of correct intake of these foods in order to adapt their sugar consumption to their diets.
It is generally believed that increasing the cost of specific foods leads to increment of other goods. The price of different items are correlated because people are always trading with each other, and if cost of a thing increases, the price of other things will see an upward trend. As a result, when people who want to buy sugary foods face increment in the costs of sugary products, they tend to increase the price of their own products in order to combat lack of money for buying sugary products. Consequently, when the prices of many items increase hard economic situations are brought for all the citizens and even the governments, recession, inflation, to name but a few. Therefore, increasing the price of sweetened goods is not an efficient way for avoiding people from buying these foods and drinks.
Admittedly, foods and drinks which are high in sugar can bring diseases, however, they contain some minerals which are crucial for humans’ bodies. For example, if governments restrict consumption of sweet foods in a strict way, people face some diseases, namely low blood pressure, because they need necessary minerals in order to perform in an optimum way. Nevertheless, consuming too much sugar results in some diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. However, people cannot strike a balance for their sugar consumption by monetary aspects. Instead, In order to make a compromise between these two issues, people should be aware of the exact amount of sugar consumption for each age, which can be done by food scientists via mass media and social media. Thus, consumption of sweet foods and drinks should not be controlled by increasing the price of these goods, while making aware people of the right consumption of them is more effective.
In conclusion, many goods which contain a great deal of sugar can bring illnesses for people. One probable solution is considering an increment in the price of foods and goods, while I claim by increasing the price of these foods, costs of other items will increases, too. Moreover, people’s knowledge of using sweeteners should be increased by skilled doctors and there should not be any restriction in sugar consumption.
