In some countries, the average weight of people is increasing, and their levels of health and fitness are decreasing. What do you think are the causes of these problems, and what measures could be taken to solve them?
It is evident that obesity has significantly increased in recent years in several countries, leading to many health disorders. Health professionals claim that there are several primary reasons for this issue.
First and foremost, sedentary habits have risen due to technological advancements. In other words, the majority of people spend most of their time sitting and browsing the internet. For instance, employees with a 9 to 5 job often sit and engage in tasks related to computers and smartphones. Additionally, many people have a hectic lifestyle due to numerous responsibilities, leaving negligible time for physical activities and cooking homemade meals.
To address the issue, experts argue that it is the responsibility of governments to allocate a specific budget to motivate people to change their general lifestyle. As obesity is more prevalent among low-income families, governments should give them the chance to use free workout classes, often held in local communities. Furthermore, public figures such as athletes and celebrities, who are popular among people, can contribute to raising awareness about the consequences of unhealthy habits like eating junk food and ready-to-eat meals. Social experts believe that individuals, especially the younger generation, view public figures as role models; consequently, they can play a central role in encouraging people to evolve their lifestyle.
In conclusion, since the rate of being overweight has dramatically risen in recent years, many health problems such as chronic pain and diabetes are increasing. Experts have a positive attitude that this issue can be controlled and solved if governments and prominent figures provide emotional and financial support.
