In some countries, more parents educate their children at home instead of sending them to school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? In some countries, educating kids at home by their parents instead of studying at school has become popular. Although by studying at home parents can protect their children from school’s toxic environments, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits because students will not be able to develop necessary life skills without going to educational institutes. Parents can protect their kids from dangerous threats in schools by homeschooling them. Some schools have toxic atmospheres, and kids are usually bullied and abused, which affects their ability to focus and study, and they will face mental health issues. Some parents educate their children at home because they believe it's much safer. For example, in the UK, more than hundreds of children are bullied at schools every week. However, studying alone and isolating children can also affect their mental health. Without attending school, kids cannot gain some essential valuable skills. There are some essential social behaviors and skills such as communication, collaboration, and teamwork that every human must have, and these skills are often developed in the early ages of a human life and in schools. By studying at home, children often will not develop these skills, and eventually become depressed. For instance, in the USA, in 2020, a study showed that children who had been studying at home were more introverted and could not communicate properly. In conclusion, although studying at home can protect children from being abused and bullied at school, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages as some important skills cannot be developed without attending school classes.
